I agree with orbiter that journalists and all civilians should keep out of war zones. When they get captured they become tools for the terrorists' propaganda. I am heartbroken for this man and his family. We are not dealing with soldiers here but religious nutters -b*gg*r the Geneva Convention , these nutters need 'deleting'.

How? I doubt the military have the capacity to replace just the medical teams that work in these areas - not to mention everything else the aid workers do.

naomi - reservists? I don't know, its just a theory. If the Army had the capacity to ring fence a large proportion of the terrorists, and get civilians out of the picture then Humanitarian aid would be reduced. La La land perhaps but in my opinion civilians in a war zone are a liability
