/// The site is invite-only and users gain access via Facebook Connect, limiting potential for men to gain access via fake profiles. Transgender women who identify as female, she adds, are 100per cent welcome. ///

I wonder how they are going to keep men out, will one have to post nude selfies to gain entry?

I did occur to me that the very women who will post on that kind of site will be the same ones ranting and protesting about Gentlmens Clubs.
Perhaps they will try to keep men out by having access to the site being invite-only, based on your facebook profile.
awww, I want to join, lol.
Anther site I won't be joining, couldn't think of anything worse.
It'll be like Mumsnet on steroids:(
jim's surely correct, you can invite anyone you want into your home without having to ensure you have a representative cross-section of humanity. If you wish to start a site of your own for which nude selfies are an entry requirement, go ahead (though I don't think I'll be joining).

No need to be personal once again, it was just a joke.
My daughter got drummed out of Mumsnet, it's a dangerous place. ;-)

Just to ask a question, are you male or female? Because for some strange reason (which I have never been able to understand), you have chosen not to enter you gender in your profile.
She's male :-)
I would find a site for women only a bit boring. Women can be nasty too and can be dirty fighters.

I don't understand the Sisterhood that I am supposed to be a part of either.

AOG, I haven't identified my gender either. I couldn't see why AB needed that information. Not sure why you need to know either?
Women only places get ultra competitive (and very b*tchy) very quickly. I lived in two all girl kids homes when I was a teen and they were horrible places.
There is no way I would ever join a women only website to 'chat'.

Zzzzzz!
Having read in the article some of the riveting (?) topics - it reminded me of dear old Marje Proops back all those years ago, boring in the extreme.

Knowing one's gender is an advantage when taking part in a debating group such as this.

I can't see others not announcing their gender if they have nothing to hide, come on 'come out'.
That's not a request that you can really make. It's up to everyone else what they reveal, or don't, so asking them to "come out" is entirely not appropriate.

And there's nothing wrong with communities like this, although some people may not wish to join them. But that's also their choice.
what would be the advantage in knowing gender in a discussion?
If you are so keen on disclosure, what is your real name AOG and where do you live?

Come on out.
