Now I know thw motoring evengelists will blame the biker for, well being a biker I suppose, but really this does illustrate how blind some motorists are.

I think if the bike driver was doing 97 miles per hour he paid a VERY large part in causing the "accident".

It could be argued that if the bike was doing 97 mph then the car driver probably could not see the bike before it was on him. A bike doing 97 mph travels a mile in about 45 seconds.

In fact a lot of blame should be placed on the shoulder of the bike driver, even if he is now dead, as driving at that stupid speed he could well have caused a major crash killing a number of people not just himself.

Why do some bike riders feel justified in going so fast and causing these accidents.
p.s. I should say I feel sorry for the car driver and a little annoyed he was even taken to court.

It is the bike driver who should be blamed, not the car driver.

97 mph is a stupid speed to be driving.

So turning right into oncomming traffic is not the major factor then! right Oh!
He's not in jail because the Judge decided not to send him there....
he's not in jail because the charge was not "death by dangerous driving" as reported, but "death by careless driving". at the inquest it was stated the car driver would have had sight of the bike for 7 seconds before the collision, given his speed. in turning in front of the bike, the driver may have assumed he could beat it if it were travelling at 60, but the police adjudged this "risky" regardless, and the successful prosecution bears that out.
^^ Yes death by careless driving is a possible jail sentence but only if the level of carelessness is very high. In this case the driver would not have expected the bike to be doing 100mph so he thought he had time to pull out safely. He 'had sight ' of the bike for 7 seconds, at 100 mph it would have been nearly 200 metres away when he first saw it, no wonder he though he had time to pull out.
97 miles per hour is speeding to the extreme and although it is a sad outcome it was an accident waiting to happen. speed kills there are rules and speed limits and if you to choose to ignore them on your own head be it. RIP
Correction ^^ . 100 mph is 44.7 M/sec so if the car driver had sight for 7 seconds the bike would have been 312 metres away when he saw it. I would have thought it safe to pull out as well , no one would reasonably have expected a bike to cover over 300 M in 7 seconds.
A tragic end to a young life and no doubt the car driver is scarred mentally too.

The video sends out two clear messages - Bikers kill your speed and Car drivers , always assume the biker is speeding.

Dreadful outcome.
Message here......bikers usually only kill themselves...but leave devastation for many.
Biker was on a 60mph limit road but was riding his bike like he was going around Silverstone

Live by the sword.........
Tragic. He's not being blamed for being a biker, but for excessive speeding. We are all responsible for taking care of ourselves and a death, however awful, doesn't automatically make it somebody else's fault.
Because the driver wasn't at fault. The biker was travelling at 97mph.

97 MPH = 142 foot per second (43 Meters )

Car began the right turn maneuver roughly 3 seconds before impact, meaning decision was already taken to make the turn, meaning driver took the 4th second to assess clearance of both incoming lane AND desired destination.

4 seconds before impact, bike was 569 foot away or 173 meters. We can easily assume that during the 5th sec prior to impact, driver already knew he was about to turn right, so that put the bike 710 foot away (216 Meters).

The biker was filming his reckless driving presumably to load onto YouTube.
There are old bikers and there are bold bikers, but there are few old, bold bikers.
Is this the same story that TWR posted about this afternoon?

He was going ridiculously fast. I wouldn't place any blame on the car driver at all.
Oh dear...
