Hardly a shock. If such feelings continue one can only surmise that such sentiments may well be reflected in the ballot box next year.

Mikey, you still don't understand what went on in Rotherham - not that it hasn't been explained to umpteen times. There is no comparison between Cyril Smith's agenda and the agenda of the men in Rotherham.
*to you*

/// The EDL are just an uneducated and ill assembled mob, so it can't be them that you mean, and don't field any candidates at Elections. ///

Once again the 'Nasty Left' cannot debate without the usual insulting comments.

Since you brought up education, for anyone educated enough on such matters, they would know that they are all not an uneducated mob.

Regarding fielding any candidates at Elections, one does not have to be a MP to be allowed to protest on certain issues, and unlike some who also take to the streets to protest, the EDL don't resort to burning property, killing, rioting or looting.

Perhaps you would be better criticising those groups rather than the rather peaceful by comparison protests of any far-right wing or far-left group if it comes to that?

But then that is not how the Left works is it Mikey?

AOG...I was answering Chilis direct question, and I withdraw nothing from my earlier comments. I thought I might be the only person to say what I did, so no shock there.
Oh...by the way I was wrong about one thing...there are people on here supporting the Far Right after all !

Can we not be rational here? The far right are abhorrent because they are racist xenophobic bigots who are a disgrace to the men who died in both wars precisely to avoid people holding views like theirs. The Muslim rape gangs are abhorrent because they are child molesters who legitimise what they do by advocating scriptures of their faith written a very long time ago and which (ought to) no longer hold any relevance for anyone at all.
Both are bad. It's that simple.
Putting the EDL in charge of security on our streets, is akin to asking Herod
to look after a childrens ward in a Hospital.
kvalidir...I always try to be rational and I am answering Chilis direct question, as well I can. The rise in the FR is a serious concern but few seem to view it as such.

So again, to refer back to UKIP, they only have one policy and that is to get Britain out of Europe politically,

How would you know that? To my knowledge they have yet to released their manifesto.

/// In a particular warning to Miliband, the MEP said he had chosen Doncaster as the perfect place to launch Ukip's general election manifesto in September, having disowned all of the party's policies from 2010. ///
Can anyone give me an honest answer to this simple question:
Which is the bigger threat to civil society in today's Britain: the "Far Right" or the mediaeval cultural attitudes of some Muslims?
Let's start with you Mikey.

/// Oh...by the way I was wrong about one thing...there are people on here supporting the Far Right after all ! ///

What's good for the goose they say, because isn't it you who is firm supporter of the Far-Left?
Farage has repeated, ad nauseum, in the Media that his only purpose is to get Britain out of the EC. And talking about manifestos, can we take a party seriously that produced a manifesto in 2010 that was sheer drivel, admitted as such by Farage himself :::

/// The men are accused of violent disorder at the demonstration in Centenary Square on July 20 last year. ///

Nine men accused of violent disorder, it was the Birmingham Mail who chose to describe it as 'rioting'

So no change there then as the saying goes.
Vetuste- I'll answer for myself- long term and broadly speaking the far right are the greater threat to society as a whole because their threat is broader and covers more groups of people generally, however the threat of radical religion in general and specifically here radical Islam ought not to be trivialised and is I think a very real threat. My objections come when all Muslims get lumped together, when that is clearly not the case.
AOG...I am a supporter of the Labour Party...that of course may seem to be Far Left to you but you believing it doesn't make it true.

What party did YOU vote for in 2010 or the May 2014 Euro elections AOG ?
You don't have to answer this question of course but my honesty could perhaps be repaid by your honesty !

Good job the public spirited EDL was around to protect the residents, wouldn't you say?
Vetuste-ennemi...kvalidir answered your question first, and I agree with everything she has said and I can't really add anything more. I hope that is OK !

At least they wasn't put into action, unlike Labour's spectacular mistake' on immigration, ask Jack Straw.
