When is the government to tell these asylum seekers (economic refugees) that they are no longer welcome in this country.
If escaping from prosecution is their excuse then there are plenty of other countries on their way to the UK that they could find safety in, after all isn't finding refuge in the first safe country to theirs, the international rule?
In the meantime for all those that we have in this country already waiting for a decision, we could either use ex military camps or build some on remote Scottish Islands, perhaps then , when they find us no longer so accommodating they will choose another country to head for.

If their boat is serviceable it should be taken under tow and returned to the North African coast (too bad if it ends up a few miles from where it left). Quite so, AOG, and that's exactly my point.
If everything in the UK was rosy, there were no homeless people, no children living in alleged poverty, everyone who was able to work did so, the health service was coping magnificently, the schools had a few spare places, taxes were not levied at ridiculous levels, transport was reasonably priced and not congested, I might, just might, agree that we could accommodate a few more carefully chosen and invited people. But everything is far from rosy. Many aspects of public services are teetering on a knife edge and the country has huge (and increasing) debt.
The government needs to concentrate on providing decent services for those already here. It is absolutely ridiculous to continue to accommodate people who fancy coming here because it looks nice. I'll say it again. The UK is full.

"There were plenty of white indigenous people living there."
And why shouldn't they if that's what they chose and were paying for it? I don't think anybody objects to a few people living in a guest house attheir own expense. I think it's providing hotel accommodation at taxpayers' expense that's the principle (though not sole) concern.
