Odd story this. It appears that the motorist was seen to be driving a Nissan Elgrand. I had never heard of this model, so I googled it. It must be a very rare car in Britain and even more rare in South Wales, so I can't understand why the Police haven't managed to locate the driver, in the 3 days since this serious assault happened on Saturday. The local paper has a photo of the vehicle and I can't see the number plate but I am sure that the Police could detect it, using the same technology that is used in the dozens of Safety Camera vehicles that are on our roads ::

Of course it's deplorable, it's assault and does the excuse for a grown man no favours - a ticking off or a picture on mobile and call the police to ask if they'd speak to the boy is fine. I love the comments of 'Sweet now but what if....' shall we apply that to all wrongdoings ?

I find it almost unbelievable that there are people on here that condone punching a small boy in the face and leaving the youngster with a black eye, a bloody nose and a swollen lip. To stop and tick the child off is acceptable but assaulting him most certainly is not. The boy didn't throw a brick...it was just a sweet, Annoying I agree but not nearly enough to warrant an assault. Shame on those of you that think it is. This man needs to be found and found quickly, before he does this again. I dread to think what he would have done if it had been a brick.

I have been out since I posted but I see that one answer has been removed. Don't know who from or what it said but I respect the Editor for his judgement. If it was worse than the answers that remain, than it must have been very bad indeed.

Here is the second link again...not sure what happened to the first earlier today, but I think it was the word that means the same as when you cut your finger and you "leak" a bit ::

It was the issue of the rare model car and why the Police can't find the man that I was hoping someone could shed some light on. I am not sure how I can find out how many "Elgrands" there are in Britain, but I still think that there can't be many. From what I can see on the 'net, it appears to be only available as an import.
Sweets today what tomorrow .If it has caused an accident would it have be still okay if it had cause an accident people would have rightly came on and said what should have been done about it and some would have advocated slapping him .So the driver just cut out the middle man .Don't ask me but a similar thing happened with snow balls to us a while ago that mob is still ruining life for other people .

/// I am not sure how I can find out how many "Elgrands" there are in Britain///

Why would you want to, unless you're going to start wearing your underpants on the outside and go chasing after him?
As a child I remember throwing snowballs at passing buses which I thought was VERY funny when the passengers would jump sky high. Then on one occasion, the driver saw the little group of hooligans all lined up with arms full of snowballs and he stopped the bus abruptly, jumped out and chased us. He never caught us. We ran faster than greyhounds out of the trap and he couldn't abandon his bus, but we all got a fright and never did it again. We deserved a good ticking off to say the least. Had my parents found out, THEY would've given me a clip round the ear.!
mikey, fear not, the answer removed was mine, still attempting to tell Gromit what the asterisked word was.
Exactly, jan, but as you can see on another thread the kids would just stand there now and their parents would get the driver sacked for upsetting the little darlings.

Thanks HC...I take it all back and apologise if I have upset you at all !

Janbee.....A ticking off is perfectly acceptable but a full-frontal assault is not, or am I the only one on here that thinks that punching an 11 year old in the face is deplorable ?

Thanks Mamy...the voice of reason and common sense at last.....I thought I was going mad !
weecalf - "Sweets today what tomorrow ..."

Great. We can thank the motorist for performing a public service and confirming to the child that throwing things at cars is wrong.

And to make sure you don't graduate to anything heavier - here is a punch in the face to advise you of the error of your ways.

Are you for real?

Andy...seems incredible doesn't it, that some people on here today could really post the comments that they have !

I find it worrying that adults with enough about them to use the internet, seriously think that punching a child is equivalent to educating him in the perils of anti-social behaviour!

It takes quite a lot to shake me but the response to this post has. I hope they catch this dangerous driver asap.
Hang on mikey - this man is performing a valuable public service - he is teaching children that stupid childish behaviour (which sort of goes along with being a child!) is only going to lead to delinquency, so in order to steer them back onto the straight and narrow, here is a punch in the face hard enough to draw blood.

Now why would you not want that man free and roaming around to continue his good work?
douglas9401 - "Not sure about that Eddie, they lean toward Toyota as a rule."

At least you are not condoning the assault of a child as being appropriate behaviour from an adult stranger.

I see you have opted for the casual racism angle on this thread.

I would be more than happy if he restricted his activities to EDL rallies !
In that photograph of where the "crime" occurred, I can't even find the village: no wonder they can't find the man.

///dangerous driver///

He got out and hit the kid, he didn't run him over!
