Not for me to say but, despite serving a sentence, society treats ex-cons as if the attitudes which lead to the commission of their crimes are still in their heads when they are released and/or that it is only a matter of time before there is a repeat of opportunity, motive and means.
So far, I've only read this thread. Presumably, the victim cannot claim trauma damages because she woke up with no memory of the incident? I find it difficult to believe that she was conscious or responsive throughout the incident, if that was the case. (Again, I am at hazard for seeming to be minimising what occurred - it is on the same level as a spiked-drink rape. Self-inflicted intoxication is neither here not there, you just don't take advantage, if you're fond of your freedom).
