blasted out of all proportion!
i followed this case and it stank from the start,hoping justice for evans will take place, i have signed a petition for this (available on line.)
now, i have also commented on some items on this case of Evans and Finnegan in the "daily mail" ,(yes i know) not one of my support comments, 5 in all have got past the DM censor,its all against evans and Finnegan thats allowed to be published it seems

Not for me to say but, despite serving a sentence, society treats ex-cons as if the attitudes which lead to the commission of their crimes are still in their heads when they are released and/or that it is only a matter of time before there is a repeat of opportunity, motive and means.

So far, I've only read this thread. Presumably, the victim cannot claim trauma damages because she woke up with no memory of the incident? I find it difficult to believe that she was conscious or responsive throughout the incident, if that was the case. (Again, I am at hazard for seeming to be minimising what occurred - it is on the same level as a spiked-drink rape. Self-inflicted intoxication is neither here not there, you just don't take advantage, if you're fond of your freedom).

Not I for one.

I am firmly of the belief that once a sentence is served, then the individual should be able to return to their chosen trade or profession. That said, this will be difficult, given the high public profile of professional footballers, but I believe no restraint should be placed on the individual on the basis of his crime, for which he has been punished by law.

Physical injury - no, psychological damage for life? Quite possibly. And he did not kill her - I am sure by that you do not wish to imply that this in some way goes towards favouring his future prospects?

The other bloke, who offered her to him, like some object, has an attitude to women which needs to be questioned by those around him.

In a way, by getting her to the hotel, he -triggered- the convicted player's subsequent actions yet got away unpunished. No money changed hands, so the law can't touch him but he, in effect, procured the woman for his friend's gratification.

I think it is easy to be drawn into a perceived miscarriage of justice of Evans by the acquittal of the other Defendant.

The actual miscarriage could be that Evan's friend was acquitted?

Oh I see, no I was referring to who had the longest thread, and it's the other one about Judy Finnigan that Deskdiary posted but I think out of 355 posts andy hughes had 70 odd which makes it a little unusual, so not sure it really counts- although it may- who knows- it's not terribly important either way.
