Pistorius Trial Still No Finished !

Apparent My Lady Judge will not be giving her sentencing until next Tuesday. I know they have a different legal system in South Africa but they couldn't have strung this out any longer if they tried.

It’s worth remembering that Pistorius is also facing sentencing for his conviction for the negligent use of a firearm, when he fired a gun in a crowded restaurant a month before he shot Reeva Steenkamp.

Neither side dwelt on this issue during the sentencing hearing, understandably focusing on the far more serious charge of culpable homicide. But Pistorius could face a maximum of five years in prison on the firearms charge!

Not preoccupied but concerned jack. He killed Steena over 18 months ago and at the end of another week in Court, the Judge still can't make her mind up what his sentence should be. Just what has she been doing all the week ?
Does it really take another week and a half to decide what sentence is appropriate ?

Other than hoping to see justice done, this case really doesn't impact on me (or anyone else not directly involved) at all.

To concur with mikey this has taken an extraordinarily long time and way beyond initial 3-6 weeks forecast.

That said, we're now in the final furlong and not before time.
As for justice being served, I've a feeling the prosecution will be very disappointed come next Tuesday.

and maybe everyone else as well; she may yet adjourn the proceeedings, possibly until the new year.

He admits to killing her, we know that he killed her, the press etc know that he killed her, the judge, defence and prosecution know that he killed her, BUT, did he deliberately kill her, did he murder her in cold blood, the judge says no to this, but to me he is guilty, very guilty. Why on earth is it taking so long for her to make a decision, as you say Mikey, what has she been doing all week!!

There's no reason why it should take so long to decided on a sentence. The judge decided on the verdict herself so it's not as if she's had a surprise verdict sprung on her by an unpredictable jury.

Well I was really hooked listening to them both putting their final sentencing pleas today. I particularly noted Gerry Nel's comment that OP's negligence bordered on intent. Looking forward to hearing his sentence on Tuesday.
