Because our economy is growing faster than everyone else's:

So Dave gives it 'one last go to get a good deal for Britain' and gets ambushed because we're doing better than France. You really couldn't make it up.
I wonder how many still supposedly want to stay in the EU, in reference sp's poll thread the other day.
Farage must be splitting his sides at the news that the EU are doing his work for him.

Only stupid, uneducated sheep criticise the EU. So we were told 2 days ago by pro-EU ABers. Curiously, they seem to be keeping a low profile this morning. Where are the 56% now.

I think there is a difference between a national economy and a personal salary. We are all part of a nation and contribute according to how much we got out of it in income. The Union is simply a group we need not get involved in. Groups tend to have set subscriptions not membership fees based on how you treat your citizens whilst trying to improve your situation.
Did anyone listen to Nigel Farage's phone-in on LBC radio this morning?
Oh what a breath of fresh air, he answered every question precise and to the point, with no misleading er, er, er, diversions that we have come to expect from the leaders of the other three parties.
Well done Nigel, you get a X from me.

looks like the UK is being run by Tescos and not getting the sums quite right. So for some years we've been underpaying, on the back of German overpayments.
And why have we been underpaying? Because our gallant rent boys haven't been paying their taxes:
"Eurostat arrived at the €2.1bn figure on the basis of new methods of calculating member states’ GNI since 1995, taking account of previously unreported or under-reported black economy elements, such as drug dealing and consumption or the sex industry."

It is very disingenous for the politicians to pretend to be surprised by this, or portray it as unreasonable.
The changes to how GDP are calculated have been known for years and the Government have been collecting the figures.
By including illegal activity, our economy shows a boost of £10billion. So are are paying more based on a bigger profit. Other countries have been including illegal activity in their GDP figure for years, so have been paying a figure to the EU which included it. The UK have not included it, so our figure was artificially less than other contributors.
The rules were changed so that every country includes illegal activity and pay the EU based on the GDP figure being calculated the same way everywhere.
France is paying less because its economy has tanked. I don't think we should be envying the French when we see why they are paying less.
