Because our economy is growing faster than everyone else's:

So Dave gives it 'one last go to get a good deal for Britain' and gets ambushed because we're doing better than France. You really couldn't make it up.
I wonder how many still supposedly want to stay in the EU, in reference sp's poll thread the other day.
Farage must be splitting his sides at the news that the EU are doing his work for him.

Only stupid, uneducated sheep criticise the EU. So we were told 2 days ago by pro-EU ABers. Curiously, they seem to be keeping a low profile this morning. Where are the 56% now.

aog, yes, as Gromit's link shows, this black economy stuff really does add up. Looks like our "working girls" are contributing a lot more to the economy than people are prepared to admit.
I'm not sure about the net effect of drug-dealing, though: the pushers may all have BMWs, but their clients may not be economically active at all.

It is interesting that when the rule change was first reported, it was given the spin of a £10billion boost for George Osborne.
This AOG thread is a reminder.

For the Government to now claim it is a sudden change and the revised payment is a surprise is just poppycock

Yes about time we got our own 'work-shy' females off their couches and onto the streets.

It's long been joked that the EU is a club created so that Germany and France (ok, mainly France) can siphon money from the UK, because that's how much they hate us.
Now we have this (AOG posted it earlier but worth repeating).

And remember: the TGV does not run on electricity, it runs on massive public subsidy. Count us out of chipping in for that, please.

I think we should exit the E.U. for many, many good reasons ..... but today I was moved to give a donation to a hard-up guy who was standing outside the supermarket with a notice. We struggle, by the way, now that we face big medical bills.
It's bad, in France. My hairdresser posted an open letter to M le President on her facebook page - it is a cry of despair from moderate people who now face losing their homes because they cannot pay all their bills and taxes. I wish that I were clever enough to know how to put the letter on here.
