Despite being a hand wringing lefty yes I will. Millions upon millions of normal non warlike men and women were torn away from their normal peaceful lives, conscripted, fought, witnessed horrors and died to protect our country. It doesn't matter whether you agree with the politics behind those wars, that is not what a red poppy represents, it represents...

No Jim I had a dig a hand wring ing lefties. Big difference, many on the Left will be wearing their poppy with pride I am sure.

I notice you evaded the question and chose just to have a pop at me.
sorry AOG forgot to read the link at first. Yes another idiot who cannot see the irony that the freedom she has to wear the white poppy is down to those we wear the read poppy to remember.
Yes I wear a Poppy out of respect and gratitude for the sacrifice made by my parent's generation who had no choice in the matter.

/// steady AOG you'll start the anti British off! ///

Nothong wrong with a bit of ground bait, carefully positioned. :0)

Thanks for the link, absolutely amazing.
nice backtrack bednobs, you should join the Libdems!
I won't wear one as I rarely leave my home and it is rather pointless to sit around in the house with one attached to my clothing.
I donate regularly via Direct debit to the British Legion so feel I have given my support to the best of my ability for several years.
I don't normally wear a poppy myself but that's primarily out of laziness rather than anything else. I always observe the silence and use it wisely. I don't need to prove that to the world; but if I get a chance I'll donate/ buy/ wear a poppy. The argument in the link is hardly original and I still don't agree with it.
Yes, and a purple one (http://www.animalaidshop.org.uk/accessories/purple-poppy-badge)
I will and I AM a lefty, although never known to wring his hands very often !

How quickly this thread has turned into a party-political affair, instead a condemnation of this twit.

Yes, I will wear one as usual - and with pride.

Methyl, do you really believe that Adolf Hitler would have changed his policy towards the Jews after listening to the views of the White Poppy brigade ?
Yes I will and a red one at that. If she (or is that a he) thinks the first world war started a century of wars as though peace had reigned until then clearly knows zilch about history.
Yes, I will.

I am surprised no-one has yet made mention of her name....
derekpara...my best guess on this is that Herr Hitler would have ground any colour poppy in the mud, under the jackboots of his stormtroopers.
Yes,why should this year be any different from the last 50 or so.Trish doesn't know it yet but she's also getting a poppy from the ToL.
/nice backtrack bednobs, you should join the Libdems!/

another gracious and intelligent apology from T3 for his silly assumptions and rude remark

it is nice when people live-down to their stereotypes LOL
I bought a brooch recently, so I don't actually purchase a paper Poppy but still put my money in.

Yes. It's a shame jake-the-peg's not around any more to tell us all about how we're simply glorifying war by buying the red poppy.

I always enjoyed that annual debate, along with the MOBOs one.
the 2 biggest causes of war? pacifism and religion! You see all this white poppy pony misses the point. It is necessary to fight against tyranny, would these plonkers just defer to the invaders and hope they are allowed to live in peace?
White feathers more like TTT !
