While I appreciate your need and intention in trying to gloss over the disaster that yesterday's vote has been for the Tories, ------------ ----- ??????????? But you're the party in Opposition mikey and your performance is in real terms dire. As I said yesterday, if Ed gets in on the back of UKIPs success it'll be the hollowest and meaningless victory in the...

Mikey/Ichkeria,
BF, by the Party's own admission, weren't in the slightest bit interested in the vote count. Their first time standing was a one-issue campaign regarding the proposed new mega mosque in Gillingham.
Ichkeria, BNP didn't stand by the way, BF threw their support at UKIP from the very start and 'not in the end'.
Further points, BF's campaign was thwarted by the Royal Mail, who controversially refused to issue their leaflet and secondly, Police Commanders went against their word in a meeting prior to the second rally at the weekend. BF were turned back after less than 100 yards instead of being allowed to address members at the War Memorial. Yes, it was the police who did not wish to upset the left wing undesirables who stood in their way. They expected the address to be made by the side of a dual carriageway!
So much for democracy!

agchristie.....we are all quite aware of what BF's purpose was in standing in the by-election. It was to make a racist point. They are fascists...that is what fascists do...no surprise there. They tried to fool the people of Rochester and failed miserably. I doubt that they will try to spread their poison in a by-election again. BF will never have an MP in Westminster, ever.
Why are you trying to protect and justify a racist and fascist organisation ?
Would you spring so readily to the defence of the BNP ?

and then
"

Very true :-) How bizarre and yet typical of a far right, racist organisation (BF/BNP the same thing as far as I am concerned) to use an election merely to gain publicity for themselves and not actually to participate properly in the democratic process.
What a shameful betrayal of all those Facebook "likes" lol

BF were not interested in their own vote count and were very open about their support for UKIP. They did not attempt to fool the voters.
How can BF participate in a democratic system that does not allow them do so? As for fascists, well that's a good word to use for the large contingent who opposed BF again at the weekend.
Of course, BF will never have an MP but they will be back in by-elections and in the General Election as they refuse to be silenced.

agchristie...you may indeed be right about UKIP next May.
But I am going to stick my neck out here ( admittedly not very far ! ) and say that BF will never win a seat anywhere. I will go even further and say that they will always lose their deposit wherever they put a candidate up, as there are not enough stupid people in Britain that can be fooled by this loathsome new political Party.
