Because Buck Pal is very wary of the Belgians. There have been long-running allegations of sleaze and revelations of family dysfunctionality in the Belgian royal family in Belgium.

King Albert was forced to issue a highly unusual statement confessing he had been "humbled" by tales of financial impropriety involving the 84-year-old dowager Queen Fabiola, the widow of Baudouin. She also was suspected of being a member of Opus Dei - and then on top of it, there has been thought to be the usual 'Randy Andy' antics going on within the family. There was also a lot of fall-out between the palaces over Charles and Marie-Astrid if you remember back to pre-Diana days, that thought to be a snub to London at the time, but reflecting this Catholic-Protestant division....

A) the British royal family now have no need to marry their cousins, they marry '' commoners'' so why attend a funeral. B) too busy wrapping xmas presents, rolling their eyes, and being touched inappropriately by a sportsman.?
