Why are people afraid of, and frowned upon for, speaking out against Muslim extremists? They don't have any qualms doing much worse to the rest of society

Haven't you answered your own question?
// Why are people afraid of, and frowned upon for, speaking out against Muslim extremists? //

They are not. Everyone speaks out against it.
I'm not.

grrrrrrrrrrrrr bloody Muslim extremists!
I don't understand what you are on about here. What evidence is there that anybody is not speaking out against Muslim extremists, except perhaps other extremists themselves ?
Muslims speak out too

Eh?

Who on earth is afraid of speaking out again Muslim extremists???

I have literally never heard of that before.

Honest.

Seriously - where did you read that?

I have never heard anyone chastised for speaking out against Muslim extremists or fundamentalists.

...ever.
which people? who's frowning? who's doing worse to whom?
((((((((shakes fist))))))))) bloody Muslim extremists

^The AB friends of the ROP are out in force. Political Correctness is to blame, I reckon, vern.
I think what people are afraid of is offending the large Muslim population by inferring that they secretly approve of the extremist tendency.

Seriously - when has anyone ever defended Islamic extremism on AB?

Do you have a lin...

...hang on - I've just realised the purpose of this thread.

Everyone can stand down down.

I myself will go back to the recording of Casino Royale I have on our PVR from Friday.

Maybe if I concentrate, this time I'll be able to understand the plot.

In good company with quite a lot of Australians in the last two days it seems

read the book sp, that helps.
Sp,

David Niven was wonderful, I hope you agree?
Perhaps not the best worded post and of course the usual suspects leap on this when they know very well what is meant by it.

SP, we have seen many FoJ on AB. Admittedly it is now becoming less fashionable to yell 'Racist' when you disagree with someone, but it still happens.
The wording is clear.......but totally wrong.
I don't understand it. The people that defend Islam are usually the ones that have slated Christianity for years. The trouble with Islam it's predominately a religion practiced by non-whites. This creates a clash of moral sensibilities within people that are against religion but don't want to appear to be racist.
I am quite happy to support and defend any religion, as long at it doesn't advocate violence and mayhem.

The actions of a minority of Muslims are giving the religion a bad name and only making it easier for racists and bigots to pretend that because there are a few rotten apples in the barrel, all Muslims must therefore be the same. The actions of the IRA were clearly not advocated and supported by the vast majority of Catholics, although a similar tarring with the same brush was evident after such outrages as the Birmingham pub bombings.....the IRA were Irish, and therefore all Irish must be murderers.

Its this one size fits all approach which is feeding the growing racist movements in Britain today, and it needs to be combated.

I don't think anyone are saying all Muslims are the same, so you can put away the usual Bigot and Racist labels away, as this type of thing answers the OP's question fully.

But it is perfectly reasonable for people to be wary of the followers of a faith that have committed many acts of barbarism recently. Yes the peaceful one's are going to take a certain amount of flack but that can't be helped because how can anyone possible know who are the militant ones and who are not, if push came to shove how many of the peaceful ones would side with the militants?

If you or anyone else could answer that question then we would go a long way to knowing where we stand.

Maybe not but look what took place when the Catholics and Protestants clashed.
