Should we ignore this and hope we dont have another Neville Chamberlain moment or is it the start of something more sinister.

Once again the liberal left and their PC ways have caused this backlash, lets just hope it does not get out of control and the Muslims take the place of the Germans in the 30's.

What influence does Islam have in Germany?
Don't worry Talbot !

Its just a quarrel in a far away country, between people of whom we know nothing !
sandyRoe, whatever its influence, it's clearly causing concern.
I haven't seen any unrest where I live and work.

I was thinking of the 'Chamberlain moment' besides declaring war or waving a piece of paper in the air what else could be described as the Chamberlain moment?
If we are looking for a source of concern, we should be studying how the Far Right are manipulating people into jumping on the anti-immigrant and anti-foreigner bandwagon. These Neo-Nazis are using Muslims and other foreigners in exactly that same that Hitler and the Sturmabteilung used the Jews. As an excuse to stir up racism.

They are just the same type of rabble rousers, just different uniforms.

So the rise of the 'far right' is a source for concern?

But the rise in islamic extremism is not?
Mikey, you're having another of your 'whoosh' moments. This is not "anti-immigrant and anti-foreigner" - it is anti-Islam - and for good reason.
The rise of any religious based extremism is always a concern. Muslims have very little, if any, political influence in Germany, or here for that matter. But Far Right groups are winning political influence and control all over Europe, and its that infiltration of our democratic process that we should be really worried about. I have posted on here on countless previous occasions about the dangers of the rise of the Far Right, and we ignore it at our peril.

Racism is always the same, no matter which particular race it is aimed at.
Mikey, there has been 3 incidents in France in as many days by what is thought to be Muslim extremists. Do you not find it worrying that you could be quietly going about your business and a car plows into you in the name of Allah? We all know there's a chance of copycat incidents.
Bu tit isn't aimed at a race Mikey, it's aimed at a religion. AS Naomi has pointed out at least twice for you.

Anti.....................................Islam
naomi...I suggest you look at YMB's link again. Racism and anti-immigration is EXACTLY what this is all about. PEGIDA even freely admit that fact.

Let me quote some of the link for you :::

"Protesters gathered outside Dresden's historic Semperoper concert hall sang Christmas carols while brandishing flags with anti-immigration slogans"

"Germany is not a land of immigration," PEGIDA leader Lutz Bachmann told the cheering crowd"
lol, you may as well talk to a wall.

Yes one we have been to a few times over the years.

Try telling that to the victims of Islamic extremists, not only abroad but in this country also.

Apart from the far-right in the 30s, which was over 80years ago, show me where the Far-Right of today have committed acts in such a primitive and savage way?

So the rise of Islamic extremism , is everything to be concerned about.
That was Talbot's point, I believe, aog.
Unless Talbot and mikey are Muslim, no matter what they say in defence of Islam it will not protect them when the balloon goes up.
My apologies to -Talbot- I was unaware that he was quoting mikey.
Mikey, //Racism and anti-immigration is EXACTLY what this is all about. PEGIDA even freely admit that fact.//

Educate yourself. PEGIDA stands for "Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West".

We know you have - because you never listen to anyone else. Now listen! Fundamentalist Islam is the furthest right of any group of people we're ever likely to encounter! It's their way or no way - with no in-betweens - and the truth is we ignore THAT at our peril!! Sheesh!
