I don't think the SNP would like to alienate their supporters within 5 minutes of the election. QED they'll have to deal with the Tories if they are going to get some power.
TTT....Wee Nicky has made it quite plain that she will not do any deal with the Tories. I am yet to be convinced that the SNP is going to get this big wodge of seats that people are now saying that they will. The YES campaign won last years referendum fairly convincingly, so where has all this pro-SNP support come from all of a sudden ?
The Tories are dead and buried north of the Border, and its counterintuitive to believe that the SNP would do anything to accommodate them. It is looking increasingly likely that Labour will form some kind of coalition Government after next May, and in my opinion it will do that with the LibDems, together with the SNP if necessary.
Happy New Year by the way....I am struggling with sub-flu symptoms today...what a way to start 2015 !

We mustn't forget that after the landslide Labour victory in 1997, there were no Tory MP's north of the Border, or over Offas Dyke whatsoever, and it hasn't changed very much since. There is still only one Tory MP in Scotland, and it would be easy to come to the conclusion that people up there really don't like them very much. dave's gloating and talk of "purring" didn't exactly help.
But I am still unconvinced by all this talk of the march of the SNP.

In my humble opinion danny, any talk of anyone doing a deal with UKIP is still in the realms of fiction. A third party, like UKIP has an enormous hill to climb to get any, let alone many MPs elected under our first-past-the-post voting system, even if they are supposedly so popular. Coming second or third in any seat is entirely irrelevant.
// The SNP will "never, ever" go into coalition with the Conservatives Nicola Sturgeon has said as she prepares to become Scottish First Minister.
She said that the party will never agree to prop up a Conservative Government if they fail to get an overall majority in May as that would deliver a Tory government to Scotland. //

I wish the LibDems had been equally honest before they fraudulently got my vote in 2010.
Mikey.... come north and watch it.... The SNP will take 40 seat's in May they will bargain with the party that WILL give them what they want most, Devomax or a second referendum.... that 5% just might be there after the gloating of Cameron and instant backtracking of Millibland.... LAbour and Tory are both dead, Lib dem might be all that stops Scotland being a one party country in a few years
