Having learnt of his demise on TV today (with subtitles) he stated that this country was,at the time, 100% worth fighting for and was a a wonderful country to die for if necessary as did his mates. That is why he felt the urge to abscond with good military planning and guile to honour his mates at the 70th anniversary of Operation Overlord. I wonder if his opinion of this country has changed when he drew his last dying breath to remuster with his gallant pals who fell before him. RIP. We will NEVER forget
