No idea but if the anti semitism shown by some members here is representative then there is a general rise in anti semitic feelings across the board.

There is no surge in anti-semitic crimes.

What has happened is that a Jewish quasi Police force has been set up called the Community Security Trust (CST). The CST have been patrolling Jewish areas and encouraging complaints. Any comment that criticises Israel is recorded as an Anti-Semitic crime. So if anyone says Israel is treating the Palestinians badly, they are recorded as being anti-Semitic.

The CST have also infultrated the police. They have insisted on meetings with the police, who then agree to hearing the CST's reports. That often results in extra police being assigned to Jewish areas. When this was done in Manchester, instead of reducing Anti-Semiticism, there was a 300% increase. The increase was not genuine, it was zealous cateloguing of every they perceived as anti-Semitic.

All these reports of a huge increase in Anti-Semiticism all come from the CST.

This very organise pressure group has been successful in diverting police manpower and resources to their areas. They have done that by inflating crime figures, and then bullying the police into putting more patrols in those areas.

It is often increased reporting that is the cause when a significant change is noticed, this has happened with other crimes. If you make people aware and encourage them to report it a good number will. It doesn't mean the real underlying numbers have increased (indeed they may have decreased, you simply would not no).

So I would tend to side with Gromit on this one.

The Community Security Trust (CST)
existed for 15 years largely on private donations. Then in 2012 they hit it big by convincing Michael Gove to give them £2million of taxpayers money. There first years work instead of reducing anti-Semitism resulted in a huge increase (if you believe them).

The Chairman of CST is Gerald Ronson. You may remember him, he was one of the Guinness Four. He has a conviction for making up figures.

He was convicted in August 1990 of one charge of conspiracy, two of false accounting, and one of theft, and was fined £5 million and given a one-year jail sentence.

The real scandal here is why is the Government handed out £2 million to an organisation run by someone with a conviction for false accounting.

And why does the Charity Commission allow him to be Chairman of a Charity using public funds?

quite simple. If you go about in closed communities telling everyone you are the chosen and they are inferior you will upset a great number of people, some of whom will respond disproportionately.

A dying number now but a fair few soldiers bore the brunt of the jews after the war. My late FIL was one of them. What they did made him dislike them forever. This will, of course, filter down generations.

Jews could do a lot more to help themselves, as could other religious communities.

Your post of 14:35 genuinely surprised me. I have absolutely no idea that Jews were viewed like that after the war. But then again, as I found out by watching 'The Eichmann Show' (which was brilliant, by the way), the world didn't know about concentration camps until way after WWII.

My attitude to the Jews is basically, "You've been through a whole load of crap - you have nothing but sympathy from me".
