/// A veteran Labour MP has come under fire for claiming Ukip could not win his seat even if his party selected a 'raving alcoholic sex paedophile' as its
candidate. ///

It would appear that even if one is a raving alcoholic sex paedophile, just as long as one is Labour one is certain to get in.

It would be a positive advantage.
It was a silly way of saying UKIP have no chance of winning his seat. There are certain seats, red and blue, where a donkey with the right rosette might win. The Tories prove that time and again :-)
^They proved that big time in Rotherham.

Grimsby... you would think with all that fish the voters would have sound reasons as to why they cast their vote...
Didn't he once change his name by deed pole to Austin Fish-finger as a protest?
he's saying that a drunken paedophile would be a better MP than someone from Ukip?

Is there some argument about this?
Apparently UKIP have introduced a new vetting procedure. The candidate has to look straight ahead while an eye test chart is placed behind them. If they can read what's on it without turning round then they are no longer passed fit :-)
When will the paedophile party sort their paedophiles out?
To be honest, there are safe seats for Labour and the Conservatives where the only qualification is having a pulse and willing to wear a red or blue rosette.
Mitchell in his vulgar way, he always was vulgar, is just saying what we all know.
I am from Grimsby, it is very labour seated, you could put Sooty up for Labour and they would vote him in, Austin Mitchell is quite correct. But then I should think there are many other towns and cities that are either Conservative or Labour strongholds.
