no it is not ...the air outside lingers and the bodies barring entry over with their poison is also a problem...public open spaces does not apply to the threshold of pubs , hotels and restaurants......it is stomach churning to non smokers
You must be quite Young, murraymints. To find cigarette smoke, "stomach churning" means you haven't frequented pubs and restaurants for very long.
I for one do not hang around outside doorways - that is inconsiderate. I will go as far away from folk as humanly possible.
chrissa ...if only...I am not saying ..but I remember the beatles at the Plladium !
mamy..that, if you smoke, is commendable xx
Palladium ?
Ha ha. Snap, murraymints. What I meant was, that "everyone" in the 60's, 70's and 80's, smoked. Your stomach must have done an awful lot of churning.
I do - when our Hospital removed the smoking shelters, people went back to standing under the portico at the main entrance (I didn't).

I asked someone why they did that, the reply was a point to the wall , that is where there were 3 large metal ashtrays embedded.
Non-smokers are like the serially offended. Give them an inch, they'll take a mile.(some of them)
And if you think all those truth-twisting doctors and lobbyists who've made a, highly paid, career out of anti-smoking will be happy when no-one smokes, they won't. They'll be after someone else's freedoms and next time it might be yours. (if you drink for example)
it e
was chrissa..hence my stand off with polis on bus !
chrissa1 a house that has been lived in by smokers will smell of stale smoke for ever after, it will seriously reduce the sale price
If you smoke yourself you will not realise how bad the smell is.
It is virtually universal now that an agreement to rent a house or flat has a 'no smoking' clause in it! No one wants to rent a property that has previously housed a smoker.
sve..I love you too ! ..will give you a big kiss AFTER you come in and wash your mouth out ! lol...xx
eddie.. yup yup yup
Since when, Eddie?

"Not a fan of you TTT, BUT I love your post at 11:13 !! " - it seems you are becomming one chaptaz!

No chrissa, wrong on many levels, yes we endured through the dark years of smoker selfishness and yes it was considered normal but slowly as the majority crossed from one side to the other we have fought back and we have arrived at a state where it’s now unimaginable that smoking was ever allowed indoors. The smokers themselves now whine like the criminal at the gallows that they would have accepted non smoking rooms, twaddle they never did when they had the chance, their selfishness prevailed, even their own children were gassed at will. They resisted every chance to put their own house in order. They made it necessary for civilised society to do it for them. So I make no apology to wanting to this filth out of our lives
Blimey, TTT. That's me told. :(
I can't remember how long ago it was that I last saw a rental offer that did not specify 'no smoking'
My son has had 3 rental flats in the last 5 years and they all specify 'no smoking', if the landlord finds evidence of smoking they will require a full redecoration and new furniture / carpets paid for by the tenant.
chrissa ..for a long time now..no smoking has been treated so with lease of a property

similar situation with cars now too.
So you can't sell a car that's had a smoker in it?
