Not the 'rest' only some, and it only those who are prepared to speak out in this age of 'controlled speak' who are labelled Racist, and it is them who seem to have the loudness voices, because where the criticism of immigration etc is concerned it is indeed a silent world, or at least some would wish it to be.
That's not strictly true.
There are plenty of people on AB who have robust views on race, but because they frame their posts within the context of a wide range of subjects, they are never tarred with the racist brush.
I think that criticism is reserved for those who seem to exclusively (or at least predominantly) post questions where they can resort to criticising black, Asian, gay people.
This is probably unfair, but having been on AB for a decade and seen a vast number of posts from a variety of people across the political spectrum, I can honestly say that the 'R' word is used quite sparingly.
I think we should avoid it altogether. Most people on the News section know who they thinks thee bigots are. Just like most people know who the 'traitors' are (synonym for anyone who doesn't support UKIP according to a strange post last year).
I say, seeing as we all know who we're talking about, let's not bother using the 'R' word any more...because we all know who is and who isn't (in our personal opinion), so what's the use in constantly pointing it out?!?
