But Cyril Smith, for example, would have stuck out like a sore thumb.

The police obviously had their suspicions, mounted covert operations and gathered a substantial amount of eveidence. But they were told to keep quiet about it under threat of prosecution under the Official Secrets Act.

It's true, it didn't matter. The people living in those flats would have had no voice even if they had known what was going on.
But it's galling, even now, to think of abusers so secure and confident in the knowledge that they were untouchable.

They were indeed thought to be suspicious, which is why the Met organised the hidden cameras. What a pity that MI5 decided to sabotage the investigation......again. I don't suppose the suspicion that two high-ranking Police Officers themselves were active in the sex ring, was in any way a significant factor ?

If and when as much of the truth as can comes out it could well blow the whole establishment apart.Politicians,Police and others are likely to be mentioned,only problem is most if not all are dead.
