Radio 5 live had both her and Robbie Savage on last night - unfortunately both on the telephone, not face to face. She stated that if she was diagnosed with the illness, she wants to be hit over the head with a brick (you thinking what i'm thinking?). She has actually signed some legal document saying she wants to go to Switzerland or Sweden (or wherever) to be euthanised. Ex footballer Savage, an ambassador for the Dementia charity, took her comments to heart as his father suffered from the illness for a number of years before passing away in March 2012. His voice shaking with understandable emotion, he called her "stupid and naive" and told her that his father was his absolute hero. I'm convinced that had they both been in the studio, there would have been no need for that trip to the euthanasia clinic.
She really is scraping the bottom of the barrel with these comments, Lets just hope she never has to look after anybody at home with dementia, she clearly knows nothing about the subject and is clearly seeking the very negative attention that she thrives on. I think if she were to spend some time with the people I work with on a daily basis she might be able to hold an informed opinion. Until then she really needs to keep her vile opinions to herself!!
She's producing the desired effect - you're all talking about her and you're all hating her - and that's how she earns her money. She's not daft!
cassa333, unfortunately your comments are not true! they are correct of some people with dementia but not all, dementia comes in many forms. I work with people with advanced dementia, many of these people are happy living in their world, of course it isnt of their choosing, but many are happier than those without dementia.
She's playing a dangerous game. Make yourself a hate figure and not just rational people will hate you.
Very true ummmm, maybe when she really is afraid to step outside her front door she will stop and think about the vile things she says and how they hurt people!
It is worth noting that these days we dont use the term "suffering with dementia" as many do not "suffer" with it, they learn to live with it.
ummmm, people love to love/hate 'celebrities'. It's nothing new.
No, it's not, but she's going out of her way to be hated.

If she wasn't controversial no one would ever have heard of her. That's how she earns her money.
Like most figures of 'hate' people only read half of what she's tweeted then embellish it. She actually said dementia patients are blocking NHS beds -well I hope that statement was based on fact but I doubt it -she then indicated if she ever got dementia to 'bang me on the head' -that is NOT saying 'dementia patients would be better off dead. After seeing my MIL's last 6 months suffering with advanced dementia, ending up black all over and took 4 days without liquid or food to die, both OH and I wished she'd gone quickly while she still had her dignity.
She is not going out of her way to be hated. She is speaking her mind and those that don't agree 'hate' her. I think the woman is a female d+ck but don't 'hate' her because I don't always agree with her -thats just childish
Retrochic, so lets enlarge on it and say that sick people are blocking NHS beds, dementia is a disease, why doesn't that count?
No retro, she deliberately says things to be offensive because that is how she makes money!! Civilised people know how to be civil, she clearly does not!!
Everyone is talking about people who 'suffer' with dementia. How do we know they are suffering? How do we know that they aren't happy in their own little world?
She goes out of her way to say controversial things.

Naming your child after geographical places is wrong...says the mother of India!
RATTER......not all sick people need hopitalization and certainly the majority of dementia patients can be treated at home........yes with devotion from the family and social support.

Hospital beds are now at a premium and if dementia patients are to be hospitalized, then waiting lists for urgent and non urgent procedures will lengthen.

Bed blocking from whatever cause is an expensive and logistical problem in the NHS and money is running out.
RATTER I can't discuss the NHS as I have little knowledge or use of it and I did say her statement was probably not based on fact. As for the 'Controversial' things she says, they are only controversial or shameful if you disagree with them. I have doubts she sits at home and writes scripts for the sole purpose of being nasty -I don't think she's really a closet leftie! I think what she says is based on her personal beliefs and she chooses to announce these beliefs without caring what anyone thinks. That is impolite and insensitive but not 'hateful'
I think she is a talentless piece of trash, whose only claim to fame is being controversial. It was quite clear on Celebrity Big Brother she was a bully.

I wonder how she would feel if one of her children or her husband got dementia, I bet she hasn't thought of that!! and when her husband uses her kitchen floor as a toilet and rips all the paper of her walls and cries or screams all night, will she still be looking after him at home? I bet not!!
