She didn't say naming your child after a geographical place was wrong -she said she would discourage her child to bring home a friend with a 'common' name, like (insert chavvie name). Which in fact is worse.
RATTER She would probably put him into care like thousands of families have to. Are you saying all those families are wrong and they should look after their husbands/wives at home?
I agree with naomi. I don`t know why people want to talk about her or why they are interested. I don`t think I have ever seen an interview with Katie Hopkins. I don`t even know the sound of her voice. I have seen the odd headline on the North Devon newspaper online that I look at because she comes from Bideford (I think) but I have never clicked on it. She just doesn`t exist in my world. It`s not that difficult to ignore her.
"I hate geographical names for children."
"Your child's called India."
"Err, yes but it's not related to a location."

Slam-dunk, no?
Sqad, I agree that many people with dementia can be looked after at home, however many cant, people with dementia also need somewhere to go while being stabilised and or being treated for other things that they suffer from like many older people, just because these people are in hospital with dementia, doesn't necessarily mean they are in hospital because of their dementia. Generally speaking if someone is in hospital because or their dementia it is because they NEED to be there!
She slated parents for naming their child after geographical places. Watch it on youtube.

'Tyler' was her 'common' name of choice but she still slated place names. That's when Philip Schofield pointed out her daughters name is India.

You really should stop disagreeing for the hell of it, Retrochic!
Retro//RATTER She would probably put him into care like thousands of families have to. Are you saying all those families are wrong and they should look after their husbands/wives at home?//

No that is what Katie Hopkins has said!!
JTH when one quotes things one usually adds the reference, otherwise people may think one has just made it up to make ones point .
Ummmmm I will disagree with whom ever I want to just as you may. Its called 'debating' and if you just want to read posts about things you agree on , and people agreeing with you, and lol-ing with you, then may I suggest you stick to Chatterbank.
Like I said...watch it on youtube. The interview is there.

You remind me of her actually, Retro.
Debating is fine. But you're wrong.
RATTER -I thought when she said blocking NHS beds she meant Hospital beds -do the NHS own Care Homes?
Ummmm thats the funniest thing I've ever read on AB -I'm hoping it was meant to be funny lol!
RATTER...yes, I see you point, but the reality is that once a patient with dementia is admitted to hospital then it takes the "devil of a job" to get them out and that bed is "blocked."

In many cases, the next of kin do not want them home.

My remark about "from cradle to the grave" in my first post on this thread, was inserted to point out that the statement was now a "pipe dread", as this cannot be funded any longer.

I do really sympathise with the cares of dementia patients, but hospitals, for various reasons, are not the place for them and that is what Miss Hopkins was pointing out.
Ummmm OMG you've outed me, I'm really Katie Hopkins.Do you have connections with Sherlock Holmes by any chance?
....hit submit too soon....

I trust that satisfies one?
Sherlock Holmes is a fictional character!
Sqad, I agree, hospitals are not the best place for people with dementia as they currently stand, however if they had beds in a separate unit where the doctors and Nurses gave a dammed and are actually trained to deal with dementia then they would be ideal. People with dementia in a general ward are often a very big problem for hospital staff. Maybe Katie Hopkins would have been better off stating these facts rather than just being typically vile!!
Retro, //RATTER -I thought when she said blocking NHS beds she meant Hospital beds -do the NHS own Care Homes?// I dont think the NHS own care homes, did I suggest they do?
