So far as I can gather, a lot (if not most) of these 'refugees' are not Libyan. I'll be shouted down, but I'm tired of being blamed. I am appalled at myself for thinking 'Right, OK, move on, it's not our fault they shouldn't be doing this crossing', but the other half of me says 'sensible thinking'. They take their chances.
I used to donate to 'Save the Children', but Africans have not limited their population growth; as was prophesised when children would live so fewer pregnancies were needed. I won't give another penny.
Looking at maps, Tunisia seems to be nearer. The answer seems to be to tow any boats to Tunisia (or N.Africa, whichever is nearest) disembark the occupants and then scuttle the boats.
