Syria is 72,000 square miles, the UK is 94,000 square miles, so we are a little bigger than them.
But we have a population of about 64 million, they have a population of about 18 million.
While we would like to help we cant just keep taking more and more people.
India has a population of about 1.2 BILLION, most of whom have a far worse quality of life than we do in the UK, so do we take all them as well?
We cant keep taking more and more people, particularly ones who will probably spend much of their life living on benefits.
Yes it is a sad story, but I am sure there would be millions of sad stories if you spoke to people in many of the countries he world, but we are small country almost full up.
We give a lot of foreign aid, and we are far better helping people IN their own country than constantly taking them in to live here.
