It seems obvious that Scotland are doing something right, ie this super hospital, no University fees, free prescriptions and free elderly care, but what is it?

I recall there was to be a new hospital build very near me a few years back; that was until the Labour MP was slung out on her ear and a Tory one elected. Then it seemed we didn't need one quite as much as was continually being claimed beforehand. (IMO we actually do. When needing hospital appointments the NHS can not even be bothered to set it up at the nearest, which is some miles away, even when they promise they will.)

/// The Scottish nation as a whole, thanks to English taxpayers, has never had it so good. English money is propping up the most welfare, drink and drug-addicted nation in Europe. Nowhere is public spending per head higher in the UK than in Scotland — where new road schemes, libraries, schools, hospitals and other state-of-the-art publicly-funded institutions are in an abundance rarely spotted in England///

Ignore the Independence Part, the reason is here

Baldric is right. Personally I wish Scotland had voted yes, wouldn't be long before the SNP had lost their shine when they've got to do it on their own with their own money.
4 old knackered hospitals close ,a single new one replaces them. It's nothing special

The bus tickets are insanely cheap as well.

Baldric is wrong, Northern Ireland gets more money per head according to link

If anyone is wrong it's Simon Heffer, the quote was taken from the Link, which as you also quote the Link I assume you've read it and would know that!

That is what I was answering to, but I assume you would of read it and would know that

Neither of us claimed Scotland got more money than anyone else so your remark is some what irrelevant
I want more money - send it to me.
Lol whatever Baldric , you posted the link
We build hospitals, you build super train lines and have state funerals for centuries old stuff found under car parks.
Different priorities, thats all.
The quicken we have sturgeon and Salmond running this country the better.

Then we can all have Robots to wipe our bottoms.
I wish Scotland had voted YES, too.
we in Scotland would like to thank the English people for paying for our new hospital, :)

It could be worse; you could be Scottish but living and working in England....I know a few!
Jordyboy, if that were true you wouldn't be enjoying such unequal privileges.

anneasquith, I can’t say with hand on heart ‘you’re welcome’, but I too wish you'd gained independence.
Naomi, no doubt you do wish Scotland was independent, but, why were all of Westminster so against it ?
