this morning over this affair and all he could do was to vaguely point at other parties and their mistakes.
Is it any wonder that I and others, make fun of UKIP at every opportunity, when they make it as easy as this !
Mad as a Box of Frogs.

Presumably when the results are announced and the Tory (if he survives) makes his victory speech, he won't be doing the usual 'thank all my opponents for the sporting way they have conducted this campaign'
:-)
UKIP should have focused on their 'heartlands' : the rundown areas of Kent and East England with low immigration levels and not made themselves a hostage to fortune by running a full roster, more or less, of candidates. Got themselves, maybe, a foothold of seats. But then I think of the saga involving the merry go round of candidates in Basildon and East Thurrock so maybe that was not a good idea either.

What's new?
Farage says "we're getting rid of all the loonies"
"What about his new one"
"Oh! Blimey, I've just learned about that. We'll get rid of him right away."
"But he's been saying this for ages and is one of your party's candidates."
"Well, I'm the leader. How am I supposed to keep track of everything?"
This leaves us with two possible conclusions about UKIP supporters (and also about Farage himself): either they are the most credulous, stupid, gullible people on the planet who will believe anything that someone they like says to them. This seems unlikely to me. The other option is... they don't care.
Even if they themselves are perfectly normal, reasonable people, they don't care about people with frankly insane views taking seats in the House of Commons. Just doesn't bother them. If you ask me, that says something much, much worse than the first option.

The point isn't that other Parties have their problems. Of course they do, but UKIP's first line of defence when caught with its pants down, is that
"well, its not our fault and anyway, others as just as bad as us" "
as heard from Mr Nuttal live on Radio 4 this morning.
Farage keeps telling us that he has cleaned the stables out, but the next day, along comes another nutter. As others have said, time and time again, UKIP attracts nutters like a turd attracts flies. And I am getting a tad tired of Farage appearing on the box, telling us that it won't happen again. It has happened again, and it will happen again in the future.
UKIP nutters are like London buses....don't worry if you missed one, because another will be along in just a few minutes

In fairness I have to give some credit to our local UKIP candidate for answering my query about their manifesto pledges and immigration policy very honestly thus:
"Yes you're quite correct: if we remain (in) the EU then we wont be able to deliver any of the financial benefits that the manifesto promises. We can only start spending money here in Britain once we stop paying our EU membership fees, and can only control immigration once we take back control of our borders."
