Tom Conti to vote Conservative for the first time. Let's hope others follow. His article sums it up for me!

Reading the article just hit a spot. I have seen vicious attacks and bile in this campaign. As I said in my earlier post about Labour Election leaflet lies, the Labour leaflet was full of bile at the Conservatives, no mention of the candidates achievements whilst the Tory leaflet didn't mention Labour.

Labour are creating a class was which has changed hugely since the 1920s. Having read a lot about Social history in the 20th century I would definitely have been a Labour supporter in those early days. Now they stand for bashing the so called "Toffs" which is ok to do but mention the word Plebs would be instant dismissal.
He talks about Labour in the article but really the sentiments apply to all the left wing/anti British attitudes. Where those that don't have the "correct" view on any given subject are subjected to labelling and denigration. You may not be a Labour supporter Gromit but you do fit with what the article is saying.

Gromit not Labour TTT. The Pope must not be a Catholic!!
Naomi,
I voted LibDem in 2010 but that proved to be a huge mistake. I will not be voting for them this time.

I will vote for the Green Candidate in the Westminster election.

I was seriously contemplating voting UKIP in the local elections*, but I talked to someone who knows him and he said he was a football hooligan idiot.

* the Sitting Labour Councillor blagged her way onto our Curry Night out and proceeded to not pay. The UKIP candidate stands a chance of ousting her.
well clearly the tactical vote is UKIP gromit! why waste it on the MAABOF greens?
the story says "lifelong Labour luvvie" and that's simply not true. Still, never let it be said the Mail underestimates the gullibility of its loyal readers.
I can never understand why most "luvvies" are Labour supporters.

I know many of them were not always well off and saw Socialism as a way of getting their hands on other people's money. But most of us grow out of that as it eventually dawns on us that our money that suddenly becomes part of "other people's" and is thus ripe for redistribution.

I wonder why this doesn't happen to the Luvvies.
Tax is for 'little people', NJ. When the Labour Luvvies tax affairs come to light, they're usually unsavoury.
The Daily Mail is a great newspaper ........... for crosswords!

But some of the political content that has been appearing in this rag in the past few weeks is just unbelievable. Fair, honest, balanced reporting, which incidentally they demand from the BBC, has just gone out of the window!

Gromit that has to be the worst excuse for prostituting your vote to anyone, never mind Farage, that I've heard lol
They can demand what they like from the BBC, all they'll get is illegal left wing bias. A privately owned paper can be as biased as it likes. And, of course, you're free not to buy it.
Svejk, you say, 'They can demand what they like from the BBC, all they'll get is illegal left wing bias. A privately owned paper can be as biased as it likes. And, of course, you're free not to buy it'.

I agree that the BBC is not perfect, but this country would be far worse off without it. I don't know which BBC channel you are seeing this illegal left wing bias, but I've not noticed it while watching on my set. I'm not certain how old you will find whichever party is in power, then naturally there will be media reaction against it.

google BBC bias. 20 million+ results.
is that the same BBC whose political editor was president of the Conservative Association at Oxford?
Collectivism only really works well on the scale of a small farming community. Everyone knows everyone else and look after one another. It does not scale up well. The more people you add, the more extremes of wealth and poverty enter the picture.

As I've said in previous threads, the kibbutz system began to collapse as soon as participants' parents began dying off and the members expected to get their share of the person's inheritance. All the idealism goes out the window when thingd the collective have not earned are deemed up for grabs.

I still think it is unfair that somone can earn huge salaries for things which aren't particularly difficult: anyone can buy low and sell high. The difference is only one of: do you live within commuting range of the city and do you know the right people to help get yourself recruited?

Notwithstanding sentiments like that, it does appear I have been fooling myself for decades and should vote Tory anyway, based on my beliefs regarding economics and forget about my personal circumstances. I should also forget about trying to help out other non-wealthy families, as if Labour was some kind of Charity organisation. They can vote for themselves and don't need my help.

lol, 20 million results evenly divided between left and right.
At the end of the day who gives a t**s , who he votes for ?

Is he some god that must be followed ?
The cleaners couldn't open the doors in 1997 for the empty Champagne bottles. Champagne which we, doubtless, paid for.
