Should On-Duty Police Officers Decorate Themselves In Such A Way?

Recently British Muslim social and political activist Anjem Choudary questioned a police officer about a HELP FOR HEROES wristband that he was wearing.
I wonder what he would have to say about this.

Yes they do. And more's the pity./
What an odd thing to say. I've been there at the carnvial and have heard positive comments from goers regarding the police joining in and breaking down barriers. People saying things like "I wish they were all like this" and "Who knew the beast could have fun" so if this reestablishes ties to the communities who like I said have once seen them as a cold heartless machine then this is better for community spirit and helps the long plan.
Would you and the op hoped that they would have smacked their battons across the mouths of any dancers who dared dance with them instead with a oneliner as "Don't touch us WE ARE THE LAAAAAW?"
How very 2000ad!

That is because UKIP LGBT has been banned from the parade because of fears of violence from their opponents.

*** Ukip LGBT should not be banned because of the potentially violent reactions of their opponents. Penalising them because of the aggression of others is wrong and unfair. If there is a danger of assaults, the police have a duty to protect the likely victims. ***

/The Grumps are out in force today Broseph!/
Sadly they always are but it's better that they are here spouting their negativity and vitriol on the net then going out getting drunk and babbling incoherently waving flags and shouting slogans that they don't have a clue of the meanings or it's origins.
The internet keeps many safe.

Perhaps that Guardsman who was heckled by that tourist, should have joined him in his little joviality, instead of prodding him off with his bayonet?

Aaah...I see what you did there. You've brought a story from the op and then slipped in something that has nothing to do with the op to try and enforce your non point which has then failed and crashed miserably.
What has a story about a guard being touched have to do with this story as I can't quite see the connection or maybe I would after shaving my head, tattooing my knuckles and drinking 12 super strength lagers every connection I want to make magically appears and makes sense.
