Extremely sill to you maybe, but clearly not to the members and committee of the Wimbledon Tennis Club.
You may well hold a minority opinion or it may well be a majority opinion, but these are the rules.

If you do not like the Club rules, then don't join OR get a delegation to put your opinions forward at the next meeting.

As others have pointed out, no one is forced to play at Wimbledon so if you really object to the rules then dont play.

The dress code rules have been pretty much the same since the AELTC started.Surely they must be known and recognised by now.They ain't new or changed.

Yes I am sure the criminal fraternity does.
Doesn't matter whether the rules are new or more stringently enforced,the bleating occurs every year.
Then the sheep can withdraw from the Tournament then. They have a choice as did Agassi for four years.
