We shouldn't be at all surprised by any of these revelations. The country voted in a Tory Government again, so these measures were on the cards. Its what always happens when we have a Tory regime in place. During the period between 1979 and 1997, millions of people were thrown out of work, thus relying in benefits. Its part of the reason why benefits levels are what they today.
Previously this week, it has been leaked that Osborne is considering making large cuts to Working Tax Credits ( AB yesterday) If he is thinking of cutting the benefits that go to working families, we can only guess what he will do to other people.
How long will Old Age Pensioners be immune from attack, for instance ?

cap 'family benefits at £23K - I should ruddy well think so -should be less -why should it be possible for a family to claim up to £23k a year when some families with two working parents are not getting that Net? ( and they have to pay childcare on top of that) Cut benefits to people who have no intention of looking for a job -like those who say 'well is it worth my while getting a job, will I be worse off? -make it worse off to not work!

By the way, left-wingers are vastly outnumbered by right-wingers here on AB.
