Mps To Vote On Changes To Fox Hunting Laws
http:// www.bbc .co.uk/ news/uk -politi cs-3344 0330
I know we have debated this before but MPs could be discussing this as early as next week. It will be interesting to see if here on AB, we split into our normal right/left fashion !
Message to Editor...can we have one of your little plebiscites on "Hunting with dogs please" ?

Actually mikey - I doubt it.
As I have opined - they justify the 'thrill of the chase' by dressing it up in some nonsensical argument that they assist in controlling the fox population, but it is the riding and chasing that they enjoy - neither of which are involved in no-less barbaric 'sports' of previous times.

Andy...but it is the same Usual Suspects that enjoyed all the previous blood sports, that still partake in fox hunting. And that is where the danger lies.
They would certainly bring back hare coursing, given half the chance, and that is why these new Tory plans to repeal the law must fail. With a Tory working majority in Parliament, there is a very real chance that their plans could succeed, After all, they don't have the brakes of the LibDems to stop them now and its the reason why they didn't have plans for this debate from 2010 to 2015.
We need to fight any attempt by the Tories to reintroduce cruel blood sports.

I seriously doubt any of todays 'Hunters' were ever involved in Bear Baiting!
Ratter...I am interested in your previous tenancy of the farm. I recall, very vividly, your departure from it !
But, as a tenant, were you not able to disallow the Hunt on the land that you were renting ? I would have thought that as a Tenant, you would have had some say in this, but I could be wrong.

Hope to God the act doesn't get repealed, but they are still hunting anyway, aren't they ? Eddie, I joined the sabs on many occasions in my youth, but I also had a 'life' too, a job, buying my own house and I still have a very fulfilling life now - basically you don't know what you are talking about !!
ichkeria - //The change would allow packs of hounds to corner a fox but legally it could only then be shot
That is not going to work ... //
Indeed - can't really see a pack of hounds standing off because the law says they can't destroy the fox they have just chased for three hours, they have to wait for the nearest barbarian with a gun to pop along and put ten pence of lead behind its ear!

We had no say in it and the contract we had really wasn't worth the paper it was written on! also it helped keep the foxes down that were taking our free range hens.
