yeah why not ? the standard is "beyond reasonable doubt" and I have been involved in many cases where it is pretty obvious the fella has done something ( that is the thing he is accused of ) but the evidential burden has not been discharged ( = they didnt prove it )
there are also other cases where the fella was acquitted but then a civil case followed which said he HAD - Gray v Barr springs to mind
