Obviously the Guardian didn't think it racist, or they would not have printed it. Not all the comments think it is racist, the highest rated answer with 160 likes, seems to sum it correctly. People of all skin colours, nationalities, can be racist, and brown people are no exception.
I have done the game of changing all references of white people and replacing them with the word black, and you still do not get a racist article. It is possible to criticise someone of a different colour without being racist. I disagree with this article, not because it is racist (it isn't), but because I do not with the conclusion she has come to. There will ve some white people who leave an area because they no longer like the current complexion of the community, but they will be a very small minority of the leavers. The vast majority leaving will be those who have become more wealthy through age, and want to leave a poor area for a nicer place.
