Rather than one thread on each, I thought a compendium thread would prevent clutter. Examples so far:-

"I am a bio-engineer" (Egyptian; presumably left his certificates at home. I would like to be a bio-engineer myself. Can I just walk to SE England and claim to be one, too?

"My wife and children will be in trouble if my face is seen" (East African with back of head to camera. Claims to be a dissident).

"God wants us to be here" (African. Country of origin not stated. BBC coverage 31/07/15)

"…because I speak English, no French" (paragraph of mostly broken English). No real hardship to start any other European language from scratch, given the basic attainment achieved with English, so far. Half the planet has command of rudimentary English. This should not have any weight as a criterion upon which to base choice of country of settlement.

Hypo, yes, sadly delusional. It is interesting to read or hear comments from some of the migrants.

Desperate statements matched by their desperate attempts to get to England but it is worth it because 'England is good' said another!

These are human beings. Now I realise,by reading some replies, how Hitler managed to rise to power with the Nazi party. Some of you lot should read your replies again then ask yourself 'am I racist?' I think something needs to be done but there is no need for these middle class pompous degrading remarks . There are plenty of places I would like to go 'for an easy life' and maybe will when I retire. Just because someone wants an 'easy life' does not mean they are 'scum of the earth.

oh and an 'easy life' to someone with absolutely nothing may just mean a steady job with a roof over there heads. There are plenty of white born in UK people who already have 'an easy life' at the expense of the tax payer.

no. but just because they are "desperate" doesn't excuse criminal acts. these human beings force their way into trucks causing hundreds of pounds of damage. they then clamber all over the loads inside, contaminating and ruining them, costing many hundreds more, possibly thousands.

They're not desperate. They may have been when they left home but there's no hot pursuit across Europe, there's no manhunt, no packs of slavering killer dogs to be set on them, no fatwahs, nothing.

Cameron says he is getting tough, by supplying the French with more fencing and sniffer dogs.

Get real Mr Cameron, make it electrified fencing and the dogs either Dobermans or Pit Bulls.

And on this side of the Channel, arm the police and the Army with strong wooden batons, when captured chain them together until they can be interned in Prison Camps, until we have enough to sail them back to France.

I don't know if you've noticed, AOG, but the majority trying to get to the UK from Calais are non whites and I would guess that after reading some pretty nasty comments about them that would be the reason that Retro used the word 'white'
