If it's proven in a court of law, then he is most certainly unfit to lead the party.

However, when 'allegedly' is thrown into the debate, then it's mere gossip, and we cannot be beholden to tittle tattle.

Not mere gossip SP. If you read the full article you will find out just how much evidence they have. He didn't respond to anyone's concern about the abuse and would attack the likes of Geoffrey Dickinson who had written proof. At least Margaret Hodge (after much pressure 10 years later, apologised. Harman And Domey said they had nothing to apologise for when it was found that they were supporting PIE. The 'progressive (ie Marxist) ideals at the time viewed paedophiles as an oppressed minority who loved children and wanted to liberate children sexually!! harpers on even wrote a report supporting this as legal officer of the National Council for Civil Liberty. Dromedary, her husband was the Leader.
Not even fit to be an MP nor the odious Margaret Hodge.

Unless of course it involves anyone from UKIP or the Tory Party.

Especially the odious Margaret Hodge. Her husband, a high court judge was legal officer for NCCL. Nobody's telling me he didn't know wHat was going on with PIE.
In the 1980's and 1992 Corbyn had no power to do anything. He did not even have a shadow cabinet position in Labour's opposition. All he could do was pass on the whistleblowers concerns to the Government Health Minister, and there is no evidence that he didn't do that.

If the local authority led 30 employees take early retirement (presumably the inference being they were paedophiles) then that is not the MPs fault.

Corbyn may pissibly be guilty of not taking the situation seriously enough, but the blame for any inaction lies elsewhere. The Lical Authority were responsible for the safety of these children, and the Police were resonsible of investigating wrongdoing.

What you have linked to is a classic Daily Mail smear campaign.
Gromit, are you Arthur Bostrom?
....and a John Mann, MP, smear campaign too, Gromit?

Was this man fit to be a Tory Home Secretary, and Secretary of State for Trade and Industry ?

http://i1.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article5024106.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/Leon-Brittan.jpg
no, he wasn't. but he doesn't have aspirations to be the next prime minister.

Gromit has been watching the show back to back all last nit! :-)
Mush.......he might have done at one time, although a suspected paedophile as Home Secretary isn't so very different to a suspected paedophile as PM, is it ?

There is ample evidence that Brittan put the kibosh on the investigations into the dossier that Geoffrey Dickens gave him in 1984. Considering what we now know about Brittan, that can hardly be so much of a mystery can it ?
mikey, you're clouding the issue, rather like smokers who claim that car exhaust fumes are worse than cigarette smoke.

pointing at former tory ministers and shouting wouldn't excuse mr corbyn, if the allegations made prove to be true. and it isn't just a smear campaign by that paper you consider to be a right wing rag even further right than hansard - read john mann's open letter, and he's a labour mp.

Mikey

I really thought you would have something to say about these cover. Ups. You are normally very. Coal when it. Ones to child abuse. Your only reaction is to drag up a Tory story. I am very disappointed with you.

Gromit

Are you saying that these decent social workers are part of a Daily Mail smear campaign. Records of that period shows no attempt to pass these concerns to. Anyone. No record in Hansard of him voicing his concerns in Parliament. You don't have to be a shadow minister to do any of these. This happened in his constuancy. He has been quick to joint loony left campaigns that do not involve his constituency! One of these PIE people went on to be given the job of overseeing 3 children's homes and boasted that the Managers all knew he liked boys from 12 years to 15 years. Don't expect a rely to this, you are very fond of avoiding facts, like how many Coalmines were closed under Wilson (290) and Thatcher (160).
Mikey I see you haven't answered the question.
I am not shouting Mush...only pointing out that everybody is entitled to make mistakes, and that goes for the Teflon Tories as well as it does for everybody else.
I'm sorry Linda...your first paragraph doesn't scan, so I find it difficult to respond. What has coal go to do with anything ?
//everybody is entitled to make mistakes, //

i don't think anybody has such an entitlement - relying on something like that would be negligence. at kegworth, captain hunt made a mistake and shut down the wrong engine, it earned him dismissal.

:-)
John Mann is supporting someone else in the Labour leadership election. Regretably, he has brought child abuse allegations into the race. He may have genuine concerns about Corbyn leading the Opposition in Parliament during the Goddard Inquiry sitting. I am not sure Corbyn, by being Labour leader could do anything to influence Goddard.

John Mann references the Ian White report into Child Abuses in Islington. That report, as far as I can tell, made no reference to the alledged failings of Corbyn.
