couldnt believe what I was hearing. It was reported on News at Ten David Cameron has gone on holiday, as he feels the problem in France is under control.
Dont think he has gone to France though on his jollies.
It does seem crazy. Cameron was recently saying he wanted hospitals to be covered all the time by senior doctors, (which I think is a good idea), but it's ok for the whole government to take 8 weeks or whatever it is off?
A recent 10% salary rise, recommended by an "external professional body of experts". Did they factor in the 8 weeks' holiday to the calculated pay rate?
(I say 8 because I can't remember how many weeks they take at other times of the year).
When is a good time for a prime minister to have some time with his family?
I don't think any one can function effectively if they are expected to work 18 hours a day for 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year for 10 years. I'm sure he'll still be working part ofthe day receiving briefings and making some decisions even when on holiday
Far be for me to defend dave but I think he is entitled to a holiday. I am not certain where he is going but Cornwall has been a favourite destination in the past. I am sure that the RAF could get him back to Downing Street in a couple of hours, if he is needed.
A few on here seem unaware of the Army of Civil Servants that actually run the Country 24/7/365 and even they take Holidays, but there is always someone at the Helm.
But don't let that get in the way of a bit of points scoring will you?
Well I suppose you three are all right, poor man needs a holiday, he can just as well do sweet FA from his luxury holiday villa as he does from his place of work.
