Is this just a matter of 'talking the talk' which most of us wish to hear, or are some of the government now actually beginning to finely 'smell the coffee'?
But apparently we have still a long way to go to convince others.
/// His intervention came after a UN envoy accused Britain of racism towards the ‘courageous’ migrants trying to cross the Channel from Calais. ///
/// François Crepeau, the UN’s special rapporteur on the human rights of migrants, compared their attempts to sneak into the UK to westerners taking a ‘vacation in Thailand’. ///
I was unaware that the Thailand authorities provided their tourists with free food and accommodation, spending money and free health care etc, etc, etc.

/// One of the things 'Progress' is about is an imprprogress' has *not improved conditions for everyone* to the same extent e.g. Third World compared to Western World. ( why is this mystery rarely discussed ?) ///
It has been discussed many, many times both by laypersons and academics.

Colonisation was one of those reasons. Military adventurism was another. ///
Ah, that old chestnut once again, it's all the fault of the west. Take Africa for instance, where would that be if it hadn't been for the West giving them our technology, our education advatages, and our system of government and laws?
Even now after all these years of being free from Colonial rule, and the countless bilions we have ploughed back in, they still cannot supply themselves with clean drinking water, and when they have a well which may be many miles from their village who do you think has the job of collecting it, the women and children.

You seem incapable of copying and pasting AOG, unless it was deliberate.

So can you tell us the conclusions reached by these mamy.many discussions and who discussed it ?

Ah, selectively trying to put words in another's mouth.
Yes Colonisation and Military Adventurism are two of the MANY reasons.
Take Africa indeed aog, a failed Continent with standards of living way below your stolen, artificially high pampered standard. You do realise/read about/listen to MSM about the dire poverty, internal and proxy wars, brutal repressive regimes, that exist in that continent
that has been subjected to 'mauraders'.
Go read some genuine history, those headlines you relish in the MSM press have indoctrinated you, as they were intended to.

Aid to Africa not only fails, it is counter productive, since WW2 billions upon billions have been ploughed in and the people are now poorer than they were when it started;

Ah so our (British) artificially high pampered standard of living was stolen was it, nothing to do with us getting off our 'Butts' working, fighting for better conditions etc?
/// You do realise/read about/listen to MSM about the dire poverty, internal and proxy wars, brutal repressive regimes, that exist in that continent that has been subjected to 'mauraders'. ///
Marauders eh? Do you mean our troops (many who have been maimed or lost their lives) who have been requested by foreign leaders to help them to get rid of their enemy's?
/// Go read some genuine history, those headlines you relish in the MSM press have indoctrinated you, as they were intended to. ///
By genuine history, do you mean history that has been slanted by future left-wing academics? I also think that in my 80 plus years, that I have lived long enough to know more about real history, than you can ever gather from reading your own selective publications which have obviously indoctrinated you.

Are you implying that these immigrants were not working as hard as the the Brits in the countries that they are fleeing from ? ... no persecution or fear for their lives in their countries of origin then ?
aog: "Marauders eh? Do you mean our troops (many who have been maimed or lost their lives) who have been requested by foreign leaders to help them to get rid of their enemy's? "
What relevance has that got to the current situation ? and who were these foreign leaders with respect to the countries these immigrants come from ?
aog : >> "By genuine history, do you mean history that has been slanted by future left-wing academics?"
Please give one example of this history that has BEEN slanted by left-wing academics ? History is something that has already happened not something that is 'going to be.'
aog:> "It has been discussed many, many times both by laypersons and academics."
Yet in your 80 pus years you have lived and got to know about real history you cannot give an example and who discussed it ?

Greeks give priority to refugees over economic migrants, perhaps the tide is turning?
