With interest in the election of a leader of the Labour Party gaining momentum, who will/would you vote for - and why?

I'm a Labour supporter, and can't see anyone that I would really like as a leader. I wish Ed M hadn't challenged his brother for the leadership.
I think Jeremy Corbyn is the best of the lot we have available.

The Labour leader.election is a farce.

There is no clone candidate of Tory Liar, nor a replica of Dave Cameron, so the Daily Mail/Telegraph/Express are in both agast, and also very please.

Hopefully, when the result is made known, the people who populate the modern Labour Party, who are just career opportunists, will *** iff to the Conservative and UKIP parties that they truely beling to, and Labour can follow its true course. Unfortunately, that is probably losing the next general election as well.

I had briefly heard of Corbyn and Mrs Balls, not the other two. Fortunately, as a Tory, I don't have a vote.

Their dilemma is very similar to that of many Tory voters when deciding whether or not to vote UKIP, that is; do you vote where you really want to or vote to keep the other side out.

How is it unfortunate, this is democracy in action and if it happens as you say then surely that points to the majority (or larger) proportion of people do not want left wing politics in this country?

As I understand it, YMB, the Tories were actually supported by only 37% of the people in May.

I didn't intend this thread to become a tit for tat discussion. Since Jeremy Corbyn appears to be winning the race, and the AnswerBank polls often prove more accurate than official polls, I'm genuinely interested to know who Labour voters here support.

i forecast that andy burnham won't do well in the west midlands and staffordshire. people round here aren't in a terribly forgiving mood after what he facilitated for stafford hospital. even jeremy corbyn would be prefereable to that lying slimeball.

The Conservatives got 36.6% of the votes. But a third of the electorate didn't vote.

If the 'Not used' votes were a political party, they would have easily beaten the Conservatives, and would now have a HUGE majority in Parluament.

The vote is a farce because the system allows any Tom dick or Harry to vote on something they have no right to have a say in
However the candidates while perhaps uninspiring are all decent politicians
Jeremy Corbyn is totally out of step with most of the PLP and he could not possibly lead the party successfully for very long
Andy Burnham is my choice and I still have a hunch he will prevail. It may take a re election to do it though

I've got form gromit, I joined the IRFU so I could go to watch England in Dublin this year! If the system allows it why not? No different to the US primary system. There can't be a re election ich they use AV.

As I understand it, TTT, anyone taking the £3.00 opportunity to participate in the Labour leadership contest, has to state that he supports the party. If he does so, despite being fully aware that he does not, he is clearly lying. Is he “holding his own self in his own hands like water” and, effectively, selling his soul to the devil?
I’m an atheist and souls and devils mean nothing to me, but I would still never perjure myself in such a way. Is that what you are recommending?
