This remarkable young woman goes from strength to strength ....how proud we should all be of her. What an example she must be for other girls.

Quite so Mikey. A remarkable young woman - and a very good effort in concentrating on academic work, when there must have been any number of distractions.

Well done! Pakistan's loss is our gain.
i admire her tenacity and intelligence but wish she could embrace the freedom of not having to wear the yolk of a hijab.
How do you know she doesn't want to wear a 'hijab' ?
She is a remarkable young woman, but I don't see a lot of girls being inspired by her, sadly. The ones I know are more concerned about what boys and their own female peers think of them.

ukbod2015....I have never met this young woman, but I guess its her choice whether to wear this shawl or not. Anyway, she is hardly covered head to toe in black is she ? Perhaps some demure behaviour on the part of some British girls I see around these days wouldn't go amiss ?
Quite so Mikey.

A remarkable young woman - and a very good effort in concentrating on academic work, when there must have been any number of distractions.
I agree with what you say Mikey - but for many its an enforced sign of female repression.
Clover, hopefully a lot of young Muslim girls will be inspired by her. She is a remarkable young lady.
sorry for the repeat I hit the Submit button twice.
Perhaps she wears the scarf to hide the scars to her head?

I think she is remarkable young woman BUT have noticed the absence of any female members of her family as her Father and Uncles have paraded her on the World's stage....
Rockyraccoon, I don't know any Muslim girls, but I hope she is an inspiration to them.

Jack...this is from the BBC link ::

"My wife Toor Pekai and I are proud of Malala getting 6A*s and 4As. "education for every child," wrote Mr Yousafzai.

I don't think we are going to change the misogynist culture of some areas of the globe overnight, but I would bet good money that Malala has helped a great deal in that area.

Good point about the head scars though. Lets not forget how close to death this girl came.
yes a remarkable young lady, it surprises me though that she still sticks with the religion that almost murdered her.
Question Author
TTT...it wasn't the religion that nearly murdered her...its was the lunatic fringe that did that.

Its the same lunatic fringe that are running amok all over the middle east, driving their own women-folk into prostitution, looting archaeological sites, and torturing and killing children, all in the name of their religion.
sorry mikey I don't accept that, like all religion Islam is rooted in barbarity. Some may appear moderate but their true intentions are only thinly veiled.
Question Author
Then we shall have agree to disagree then TTT.
The lunatic fringe...

More a full blown afro if you ask me!
She's not the only one who wears a headscarf.
