It's an excellent collection he amassed.
OH had business dealings with him when he represented BP down there. He says that Lord M was a very unpleasant person, whom he disliked very much. I didn't meet Lord M and I know Mr J2, so I believe him. No loss, in other words.
I remember many years ago in the RAF we had a vulgar parody of the Twelve Days of Christmas. The first line went:

On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me
My Lord Montague of Beaulieu.

It got worse as we went up the numbers.
A very interesting man ,what a dinner guest he would have been.

RIP
Always wanted to visit Beaulieu to see the motor collection, havn't got there yet though.
The case of Montague et al led to the Wolfenden Report which recommended the decriminalisation of homosexual acts in private which, with the exception of sodomy, had only been illegal for 75 years in the wake of the Wilde v Queensbury libel case.
I was just a sniggering schoolboy when the infamous Lord Montague case hit the headlines, and of course for a few weeks the school was awash with silly jokes like "Why did he drive a car - because he liked using Benzole" etc etc. Very non-PC these days of course.

P.S. Benzole was a petrol brand back in those days.
