Why has the Gay community turned into bullies?

Ironically they have been delivered from this sort of thing themselves, now they make a "sport" of picking on people that don't embrace their lifestyle as enthusiastically as they think they should. It's going to take time for all the officials to come to terms with new rules etc, why go around trying to find people to bully?

I do believe what most are saying above, like the muslim shopkeeper this woman signed up for the job but I also think we should not go out of our way to antagonise if it's avoidable, I do think we have a case of mischief making here, that appears to be human nature.

She is the only person authorised to issue marriage licences and won't do her job.....why on earth should 'anyone' be forced to accept that?

I do not believe that she is the only person, what if she was not available at all, are you seriously saying she has no deputy? what if she was taken Ill, what happens when she has a holiday? get real.

In her capacity as Clerk, she is the only person allowed to sign the licences. She is refusing to allow her signature to be on licences issued to gay couples. She may well leave a store of signed licences for when she is absent, but she has to approve their issue.

As she is the Clerk for Rowan County, it seems that couples would have to travel to another County to get married.

How far away from your home would you have been prepared to have travelled when you got married......just because 'someone' decided that you couldn't get married in Dorset?

TTT, yes, she's the county clerk - it's not just a matter of a village - and she's responsible for issuing licences. She could perhaps hire someone else to do them, but what she's done (I think I posted this before) is to halt issue of all licences, gay or straight or other. So no, there's nowhere else. You'd have to move to another county.
