He certainly seems to have capitulated very quickly

I wonder if he has read the population correctly, just because there is a 300,000 petition (out of 60m population) and a media frenzy (because they can flog papers or make a political point) doesn't mean it is what the majority want.
And where will it stop?
Will the Hungarian president be proved correct when he says Europeans will become a minority in their own continent?

300,000: why that is nearly as many people as voted Tory at the last election :-)
I'm afraid Cameron is again seriously exposed as a man out of his depth.
I think he is now doing the right thing, but too often he has seemed to be too easily swayed by public opinion.
I think you mean the prime minister of Hungary, by the way. A nasty racist.

I don't understand the Hungarian PM's position. His country has a group of immigrants whom his country, and whatever country they came through (Turkey ?), allowed over the border. Yet he claims it is Germany's problem simply because the group wishes to go there. It clearly isn't; that is an insane claim.
Whats being French got to do with it? He's based his decision on escalating events, as have France and Germany. In and after WW11 Britain accepted over 150,000 Polish refugees and the Poles made an crucial contribution to the Allied war effort. To be honest I'd rather welcome a motivated Syrian family who have experienced the terrible regimes in thier country and just want to settle and work hard than put up with fat lazy benefit fraudsters who do not know the meaning of being 'poor'. OH and I support UKIP just in case my opinion is dusted off under the 'tree hugging leftist' rug.

No I quite I agree. But if he thinks it is Germany's problem then send them to Germany! Don't drag them off trains and put them in a transit camp.

I would agree with that, but I was howled down when I suggested swapping them in previous posts.
I would go further, there are those in this country that hate us and want to go to Syria. Why not operate an exchange scheme, like Council house in UK for Council house in Syria?

Yesterday I was praising Cameron on his stance, today I think he is a spineless fool and a disgrace to the Tory party.
How can this country take in 10,000 more refugees a month as suggested by Yvette Cooper?
And,
/// An emergency refugee summit organised by Ms Sturgeon and scheduled to take place on Friday will bring together charities and religious groups to set out what Scotland can do to help. ///
I know what Scotland can do, take in the swarms up there, England is full up, and I wonder if those religious groups will include Islam, who seem particularly quiet over all this.
But I bet they be in the forefront when it comes to applying for planning permission for the erection of more Mosques to accommodate the needs of our new invaders.
And I wonder if our Mr Cameron has arranged MI5 to scrutinise these proposed newcomers so as to be sure that there are none amongst them who wish to do us harm?
Sorry Dave if you had not thought of that.

I wondered when someone would get to the 'R' word.
I notice the left always start name calling when in danger of loosing the battle.
It's quite appropriate in the case of Mr Orban. And as for "name calling" and "the left" well, that has surely been done to death already and found to be slightly unfair :-)

Yes very Glad. Apart from the impending grief we are about to get shoved on us this country would of been bankrupt by now as well.
It would seem, judging from the Left representative on this site, that those who bought their own council accommodation under the right to buy scheme would be tossed out to accommodate migrants as well!! We will have massive towns built overnight as well!!
If that is the left I'll stick with the Tories thanks.

As I understand it, Germany has already said they will accept the refugees, but when they try to get there, Hungary stops them. If these people have through tickets to Germany, why doesn't the Hungarian Government allow them to go on their way ? The disgraceful situation at the railway station is entirely the Hungarians fault.
