Nothing at all, but all politicians see the EU as a gravy train they may need at some point so they play along.
George Osborne could go and negotiate a huge discount and claim a huge victory, and all the sheep will cheer.

But on the other hand...
I was about to say 'Good Idea' NJ, let's break all the rules and get chucked out. Then I looked at how Greece, Hungary, Austria and Denmark are breaking the rules on migrants. We'd have to do a Guy Fawkes on the Parliament at Strasburg to be ejected, I think. That is rather pushing it. :(
