It's not going to be an easy move to make I doubt the prison workers are looking forward to this.
LOL Togo :-)
Not so jackdaw. There are very few screws on duty at night after lock up. All you have to do is stick your head out of the window just like they do now when smoking cannabis or heroin.
I know, Ive done it.
Ionisers would be very valuable, blow smoke into them, no odours. I feel a patent coming on.
Mamy, that is scary! Can we please have the Mother Theresa one back?
I think you really need to be a smoker to understand how inhumane (can't think of the right word) this will be. Their lot is tough enough already. I know they've committed crimes but they are not all child molesting raping murderers.
I remember the days before drug tests in prison. After night time lock up the wing used to stink of cannabis and the screws did nothing (except sit in their office drinking tea). Everyone was mellow, little to no violence and the screws had an easier job. Then they bought out testing and cons took to heroin because there was less chance of been caught and drugs in prison became a major problem for both cons and staff. Now they want to ban cigs as well.
It doesnt take Einstein to see where this is going.
Smoking in prisons is allowed as prisons are classed as 'home' to the inmates, it is only allowed in cells.
The house's of parliament are technically 'Royal Palaces' the property of the Crown. 'The Crown' is the prosecutor in any criminal case and 'The Crown' can not prosecute itself, so there can be no ban on smoking ( or drinking ) as it is impossible to enforce.
EDDIE, did you view the link?
They are rolling out a complete smoking ban in prisons from next year.
I read that too, nailit. I think that their choice of the word 'rolling' is an unfortunate one in the circumstances☻
LOL jackdaw. Had to think about that for a minute. (its late...)
Yes I read it, it has already been discussed on AB. I pointed out that tobacco is more than 'smoking material' in prison, it is currency, as we both know.
Their will be lots of trouble ahead if this ban goes through.
Any ban would be well publicised before hand so any smoking individual should accept this before he carries out his criminal activities, after all, he has only got himself to blame for being where he is.
