When we are reminded (as in this article) of fairly recent past atrocities that were carried out in the name of other evil inhuman indoctrination, can we afford not to join Russia in their bid to rid the middle East of ISIS?
Who knows unless it is now stopped, this type of ideology could now spread all over Europe, as was in the case during WW2?
I wonder have we stopped arming and training Cameron's 'good rebels' yet? Has the US stepped up it's arms push to, well, anyone as it turned out?(a la the good ol' Taliban)
When the Syrian Army apprehend, put on trial, kill 'British' daesh, are we going to 'bust a gut' to save them?
There'll be some interesting questions to come. Personally, I'd trust Putin/Russia before Cameron, O'bama, the UN or the EU, at the moment.
A more valid question would have been 'can we afford to join with Russia to prevent the return of this type of thing'. As others have said, you'd have to be certifiable to want it to return so the OP is a bit of a non-question.
Russia has carte blanche to wipe out ISIS, leaving Assad & minions (think chess - king & pawns). Whoosh & its check mate for Assad. Russia gains middle east foothold, oil wells & mid east supremacy.
I am sure Russia can do the job adequately by themselves and claim their rewards. They won't have to worry about collateral damage. The term probably does not exist in Russian unlike the hamstrung coalition forces such as they are.
I agree with naomi earlier on. ISIL is a threat to everyone that could surpass the evils of Russia and Nazi Germany - they are already more widespread with their ideology I think.
Retrocop, I've already said welcome back on quizzes and puzzles - I'll say it again :) - and your 16,54 post is sense to me, but I worry about the US then feeling the need to flex their muscles if Russia gets the kudos. A bit muddly, but it's such a complicated situation that almost anything could happen - very worrying.
Thanks for Russian translation comrade. Babel fish? I am sure the Russians have seen the film but don't know or care what it means as long as they achieve the objective.
Thanks jourdain x2 xxx
Eddie has it right here. There is overwhelming evidence that Russia isn't attacking ISIL, but it attacking anyone that opposes the murderous dictator, Assad.
