Yes everyone knows it was a missile and a Buk at that, but it was important that a thorough forensic examination was carried out, with demonstrable evidence, and studiously avoiding anything that might be construed as bias.

More interesting will be the criminal investigation ...., tho the video I was watching was interesting as well, with the speeded-up film of how the fuselage was reconstructed from the debris.

It is interesting to note that, several hours after the release of the report and video, Mr Joustra has now come out and stated baldly that the missile was fired from Russian-occupied territory (which was more or less clear in any case from the report)

It may have been a bomb on board so it was important to clear that up.

What sometimes SEEMS obvious may not be and until someone does a thorough investigation it could have been a number of things.

From the reconstruction they have been able to PROVE that it was a missile, the model of missile and the direction / area it was fired from.
Proof is better than conjecture !
