Coriander has overtaken Basil, Thyme and Mint as Britain's favourite herb. I love it and so must many others, but I am surprised that many people hate it. For that reason people have begun to call it the Marmite herb. (I also love Marmite).

So...

A thumbs up

Or

A thumbs down

For Coriander?

Thumbs up - for both.
Herbs tend to be added to food in such small quantities I'm unsure I've ever detected one sufficiently to recall whether I like it or not. Just add as per the recipe and assume that's right.
OG....I could detect coriander from a teaspoons worth of food. It has such a distinguished taste.

I think my palate would accept cooked coriander but not raw.

But like I said....I love it now. I have bags of it in the freezer.
Tried it, tried to like it but I cant. I dont like marmite either.
Marmite should go where the sun doesn't shine.

Coriander, anywhere the flavour suits the dish being served.
When I was a kid the only herbs we seen was Patrick in his Pantry chopping curly parsley....

Ozzy....I used to have an Ozzy living with me. Vegimite is even worse!
Ummmm Vegemite beats that other rubbish hands down anytime ;-)
NO....it's grainy and more horrible :-)

My Ozzy lodger was 6"7 and walked about in a sarong and flip flops....quite surreal. He thought marmite was crap....

He may have worn strange clothing and be very tall Ummmm.

But he was right!!!!!
Tastes like soap, perfik to wash out mouthes
As a test I smothered my salmon fillet with coriander last night. Even so the flavour was subtle, (most herbs seem to be) but I understand why some claim it has a soapy taste. It has an element of that, vaguely detectable. Not that one would notice unless it was pointed out and one looked for it. Too subtle to lead one to avoid its use though.
My coriander always gets black and slimy once it has come out the freezer. :-(
I absolutely love it, eat it off the plant it's yummy! I love marmite too :)
