I heard on hte radio this am that the parole board's recommendation that he be moved to an open prison has been rejected. Good. However, it made me think - his crime was one murder nearly 20 years ago - why is he still in prison anyway? don't get me wrong, he definately should be, but since when do people get 20 years + for murder? Don't get me wrong, i absolutely agree murderers shouldget this type of sentence, but they don't seem to usually get that long do they?

^^ It is an automatic process, any prisoner coming to the last years of the tariff of a 'life' sentence has to be considered for a possible move to 'open' conditions. In Noye's case that was never going to happen but it still had to be considered. Only the few prisoners on a 'whole life tariff ' will never be considered for transfer to an 'open' jail.
I have worked in an open prison and have talked face to face with murderers serving 'life'.

sandyroe....I suspect the Police murder was instrumental in his sentence however there are generally two types of murder.
There's murder which is typically unprovoked and has tragic consequences.
There's cold blooded murder, typically by pyschopaths who have no filter.

I hope she has maintained a relationship with her own family, they didn't say.
Currently watching CSI...Dale Creegan who murdered 2 policewomen. It's a great channel, if you can get it. It's an eye opener.
